4 Most Controversial Beauty Moments of 2025: From £104 Foundation to Salmon Sperm Facials
The viral beauty moments that had the internet in a chokehold...

Some people track sports results, I track the latest beauty trends (and what makes the internet go crazy, which, let’s face it, is always.)
This year, there were many moments that raised our eyebrows, and luckily for you, I’ve done a little round-up of some of the most talked-about beauty moments in 2025.
1. The Victoria Beckham Beauty £104 Foundation

I know what you’re thinking: WHO is spending £104 on foundation? In a 30ml plastic bottle, no less. There was an insane amount of chatter about the Victoria Beckham Beauty Foundation Drops online - I couldn’t quite believe the pricing myself, but as a beauty writer, (and all-round nosy person) I felt it my responsibility to test it out. No, I didn’t splash out £104 on the foundation, I just went to the shop and had a little test. Obviously, I wanted to hate it, BUT I’ve never felt a foundation quite like it. The Augustinus Bader TFC8 technology makes it improve your skin over time, and the formula itself is super sheer, glowy and lightweight. I wouldn’t recommend it if you have any sort of redness, acne, etc., as it’s not full coverage at all. But if you have no obvious skin issues and have a spare £104, check it out here.
2. Kris Jenner’s $100k Facelift
There’s a scary thing going on in Hollywood right now - everyone’s on Ozempic, ageing in reverse, and there’s just a general epidemic of people not looking like themselves. (Kate Winslet said it best here!) Now, I am all for cosmetic procedures if they make you feel better about yourself, but something that garnered much online attention was Kris Jenner’s alleged $100,000 facelift. Everyone said she looked exactly like Kim. That she was ageing backwards. They said she’s never looked better - and it seemed like everyone was all for it. That was until Dr. Anthony Youn, a plastic surgeon, went on a podcast and estimated that the results of the procedure Kris had done would likely only last up to a year. And of course, people had lots to say about it - who spends $100,000 on something that lasts a year? Perhaps a momager with six millionaire/billionaire children? The exact cost and suspected results are, of course, all alleged, and it’s certainly none of my business what Kris Jenner is spending her money on - for all we know it was a free procedure in exchange for some free advertising on The Kardashians reality show. (But $100k is crazy money regardless.)
3. Sydney Sweeney’s Selling Her Bathwater
Sydney Sweeney has had a rough time of it this year. But one of the (many) things she made headlines for this year was for selling bars of soap, infused with her actual bath water. The soap was part of a collaboration with men’s soap company Dr. Squatch - is it weirder that this was targeted at men? It’s pretty dystopian, and fans were quick to point out the similarities to that scene from her Euphoria co-star Jacob Elordi’s movie Saltburn. However, Sweeney was quick to retaliate, noting that fans loved the Jacob Elordi Bathwater Candle, which was created in response to the movie. Now feels like a good time to mention that Jacob Elordi has nothing to do with those candles and that they do not contain his actual bathwater - it’s meant to just be a “funny” little label, okay?
Anyway, the 5,000 units made of Sydney Sweeney’s bathwater soap sold out almost immediately, because people are weird, I guess.
4. The Rise Of The Salmon Sperm Facial

What do Jennifer Aniston, Kim Kardashian and Miley Cyrus have in common? Probably a lot of things actually, but one of them is a penchant for salmon sperm facials. I don’t know really what to make of this, other than, it’s really weird and kind of gross? It works by using purified DNA from salmon sperm (also known as polydeoxyribonucleotide or PDRN) to stimulate the body’s natural repair mechanisms, leading to the formation of healthy new skin cells and a rejuvenated complexion. But, maybe not one for the vegans.
Well, there you have it! As always, we love to hear your thoughts so please comment down below. Let us know your opinions, or any other controversial beauty moments from 2025!
